BENDER – BATTERY CABLE
MODEL No. SL-ND/CB BATTERY HYDRAULIC
CABLE BENDER INSTRUCTIONS
BENDING WITH THE SL-CB
1. Install the SL-CB into the Izumi SL-ND compression tools.
2. Adjust the rollers to the position most appropriate for the cable that is going to be bent.
There are multiple positions the rollers can be placed in (GREEN BELOW). The attached pictures are to be
used simply as an approximate guide for reference. The rollers do not have to be re-positioned (RED BELOW).
3. Use caution as not to bend the cable in a radius too tight that it may damage insulation or conductor. Typically,
a bend radius should be approximately 12 times the diameter of the cable itself. A 25.4mm diameter able
should have a 305mm radius bend. (NOTE: It is recommended to consult the manufacturer of the cable to
obtain necessary cable bending radius before attempting to operate the SL-CB.)
4. Position the cable between rollers and bending shoe at the center of where the radius is to begin. Advance the J HOLE MAKING & BENDING
jaws to begin the bend, again using caution and not allowing the bend to become too sharp. The tool can be
stopped at any time during the operation and released.
5. Continue to work the cable to the proper bend radius by moving the bending jaw in 75mm to 150mm
increments down the cable and advancing the jaw to bend.
