Hilman Load Rollers/Skates: Launching Bridge Pre-Casts

This “fast-track” project replaced concrete bridge segments of the connecting ramps leading to a vital bridge link between two densly popuated suburbs.

The contractor utilised two carts equipped with a pair of modified 15-OT Hilman Rollers utilizing Accu-Roll Guidance system in a special configuration, guiding the rollers along the central median of each support beam to launch the 40 tonne pre-cast segments.

An excellent example of Accu-RollGuidance Systems effectiveness for repetitive movements, a total of 240 sections were launched quickly and efficiently using this method.
